A fatal road accident in Dholakpur involving a BMW car has resulted in the death of a senior finance ministry official, Navjot Singh. The driver of the car, Gagandeep Kaur, is under investigation for taking the injured victims to a hospital located 19 kilometres from the accident site, bypassing several closer medical facilities. When questioned by the Delhi Police, the accused claimed her actions were due to panic. In her statement, she said, "she was in panic and she knew only this hospital as her kids were admitted there during COVID." The victim’s family has raised concerns, suggesting the delay in receiving medical attention could have been fatal. Police are investigating the case for rash driving and are awaiting blood sample reports to rule out intoxication.
