Delhi Police Special Cell arrested Lashkar terror handler Shabbir Ahmed Lone from Ghazipur area while he was attempting to raise a new terror module in the national capital. Shabbir, a hardened terrorist previously arrested twice in 2007 and 2015, had nearly established a launch pad in Kolkata. Police revealed that he returned to India to build a new network after a module was busted last month on 22nd February, in which eight people including seven Bangladeshi nationals and one individual from Maldagar named Umar Farooq were arrested. The February operation had raided multiple locations across Delhi, Kolkata and other parts of India. Following that bust, Shabbir came back to India to demonstrate his team’s capability to handlers in Pakistan. At the time of arrest, he was found in possession of 2,300 Bangladeshi Taka, 5,000 Pakistani currency and a Nepal SIM card. The arrest was led by DCP Praveen Tripathi of the Special Cell.
