Delhi BJP | Hindus Always Face Difficulties: Delhi Cm Allows Loudspeakers Till Midnight

Religious events like Ramlila performances and Durga Puja Pandal celebrations in the capital will now be allowed to use loudspeakers until midnight, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Monday. This marks a two-hour extension to the usual 10 pm restriction on the use of sound systems in public places.
Under current noise control rules, loudspeakers and public address systems are banned across Delhi between 10 pm and 6 am. However, the government has made an exception for the Navratri season, permitting sound use at cultural and religious events until 12 am.
Speaking about the change, Chief Minister Gupta said she had long observed challenges faced by Hindu festivals under the exilsting rules.
"I have always noticed that our Hindu festivals face difficulties. Ramlila or Durga Puja can never end at 10 pm. When Dandiya can go on all night in Gujarat, and when events in other states continue till late, why not in Delhi?” she said.
The relaxation applies to Ramlila grounds, Durga Puja pandals, and other religious and cultural venues during the festive period. Organisers will still be required to obtain prior permission from the authorities before setting up any sound equipment.
