This special report covers the shocking acid attack on a 20-year-old Delhi University student in Ashok Vihar by a known stalker, Jitender, and his two associates, Ishan and Armaan. According to the victim’s brother, ‘My sister was harassed by him. My sister had complained to his (accused’s) wife… We want justice’. The incident occurred on a Sunday morning as the student was on her way to an extra class at Lakshmibai College. The attackers, who arrived on a motorcycle, threw the corrosive substance on her, causing burn injuries to her hands as she tried to shield her face. The three accused fled the scene and a police manhunt is currently underway. The report also questions the state of women’s safety and police patrolling in the national capital.
