The train derailment attempt in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur has come up with some shocking details, which point to a major conspiracy by some fringe elements allegedly linked to the terror module. Sources claimed that during the probe by the investigating agencies, it reportedly surfaced that two gangs operating in the Kanpur region were involved in the attempt to derail the train. These gang members are suspected to be linked with fringe elements and some hackers, who earlier attempted to tamper with the cyber system of the train which operates from Lucknow to Gorakhpur and Ayodhya.
These shocking revelations have raised alarm regarding the terror module being actively targeting the Indian Railways and also raised questions on the back-to-back train derailment incidents across the country in the past year.
An NIA team has joined the investigation in Kanpur as probe continues in the case. Bottles of petrol and matchboxes were discovered at the scene, suggesting a possible sabotage attempt, which prompted the involvement of a high-level National Investigation Agency (NIA) team.
This incident marks the third time in two weeks that a train accident was averted. On August 17, 22 coaches of the Sabarmati Express derailed after hitting an object allegedly placed on the tracks. The following day, the Kasganj passenger train collided with a wooden log near Kaimgunj. Police arrested two intoxicated youths who had placed the log on the tracks in an attempt to gain notoriety.
Amidst national security concerns, the Congress party released a video showing water leaking from the roof of a coach on the Jabalpur-Nizamuddin Express. In response, railway authorities assured that the issue has been addressed and appropriate action has been taken against the staff for poor supervision.
