Debate LIVE: Son Runs Over Two Cops But MLA Father Defends Him
On Debate LIVE, we bring you a shocking story that has outraged the nation — a young man allegedly ran over two on-duty policemen, leaving them critically injured, but his father, a sitting MLA, is defending his son’s actions instead of condemning them. The incident has ignited a fierce debate over the misuse of political power, the culture of entitlement, and the growing number of hit-and-run cases across India.
First incident, a high speeding vehicle driven by a Congress MLA’s son rammed into a police constable before crashing into an electric pole in Madhya Pradesh.
The accused was identified as Pushpraj Singh, son of Congress MLA from Jobat, Sena Patel. The incident took place at a bus stand in Alirajpur City.
According to sources, Pushpraj was driving the vehicle, with no number plate, at a high speed when he was signalled by the patrolling team at the bus stand to stop.
CCTV footage of the incident showed the vehicle veering towards the cops, before crashing into an electric pole. As the two constables standing outside the police vehicle jumped aside to avoid being hit, one of them got knocked down by the car.
Second incident, Rakshit Chaurasia, the accused in the Vadodara crash that left a woman dead and seven others injured last month, was driving under the influence of drugs,
According to the police, the primary report of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Gandhinagar – that tested the accused’s blood sample – revealed he was not drunk at the time of the incident but had smoked marijuana.
Third incident, the main accused in the Pune Porsche crash case – 17 years old and drunk when he rammed his father’s Rs 2.5 crore electric supercar into a motorcyle, and killed two people, last year – escaped trial as an adult because the charges he faces do not attract minimum jail terms of seven years or more.
Questions are being raised about whether the law applies equally to everyone or if political connections continue to shield the privileged from justice. Should the MLA step down? Should the son face the full force of the law without interference? Is India failing to protect its frontline workers from such recklessness?
