In Jammu and Kashmir, two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces under Operation Trashi-1 in a remote area of Kishtwar district today. The gunfight broke out this morning in the general area of Passerkut in the Chatroo belt after security forces received specific intelligence inputs about the presence of two Pakistani terrorists affiliated with the proscribed outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). Acting on the information, joint teams of security forces, including the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), launched a search operation in the area. The terrorists, who were hiding inside a mud house at the foothills, opened fire on the approaching troops, triggering an intense exchange of gunfire.
