David Mencer, spokesperson of Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, told India Today that Israel is ahead of schedule in its military operations against Iran. The stated objective is to remove the nuclear threat and ensure the Iranian regime cannot obtain nuclear weapons. Mencer said, ‘Israel now has the freedom to strike any target in Iran that threatens our security.’ He emphasized that the operation would continue as long as necessary, though not for years. Mencer highlighted that Israel and the United States are coordinating strikes on military and regime targets in Iran. He contrasted Iran’s attacks on civilian areas with Israel’s focus on military targets. Regarding the Strait of Hormuz closure affecting global energy security, Mencer said both governments are working to ensure the waterway remains open. He confirmed that Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump are in daily contact, sometimes multiple times per day, and share the objective of neutralizing the Iranian threat.
