In Darjeeling, West Bengal, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said heavy rains have caused massive damage, with significant loss of life and property. He noted that local leaders and officials are working hard, but the state government must do more to provide relief. Although the Chief Minister visited Siliguri to meet victims, Rijiju urged the state to map the disaster and help those who lost homes and livelihoods with proper relief and rehabilitation, calling it a big challenge.
