Dalit Techie Hacked To Death In Tamil Nadu: Cop Parents Of Accused Booked | India Today

In a case of dishonour killing in Chittagudi, Tamil Nadu, a Dalit techie was hacked to death. The main accused is the brother of the woman the victim was in a relationship with. The parents of the accused, both sub-inspectors in the police force, have also been booked under the Prevention of Atrocities Act, with the brother also facing charges under the Gunda’s Act. The victim’s family has refused to accept the body, stating, “we’re not going to even accept The body of our son because we know that the parents of the girl are behind this.” The incident, occurring in 2025, has raised questions about the political response in the state, with observers noting a perceived lack of strong reaction from major political parties. The parents of the accused have reportedly been suspended from the police force.
