IMD Bhubaneswar Director Dr. Manorama Mohanty said Cyclone Montha is now 550 km south-southwest of Gopalpur in the Bay of Bengal. It will move north-northwest, become a Severe Cyclonic Storm today, and hit Andhra Pradesh coast near Kakinada (between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam) tonight with winds of 90-100 kmph, gusting to 110 kmph. For Odisha, a Red warning is issued for Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, and Kalahandi districts with heavy rain and strong winds. People are advised to stay indoors.
