Gurmeet Ram Rahim, convicted for rape and murder, has been granted a 21-day furlough by the Haryana government. This marks his 13th temporary release and 5th since January 2024, totaling 142 days out of prison this year. Since his 2020 conviction, Ram Rahim has spent 326 days outside prison. He was sentenced to 20 years for raping two female followers and is also serving time for a journalist’s murder.
