This remark has triggered a sharp response from Congress MP Manickam Tagore, who stated, ‘Let the people decide if this will be a coalition party or a single government.’ Tagore reminded the alliance of the 2006 situation where Congress provided outside support to the DMK but asserted that they would not repeat that ‘mistake’ this time. He emphasized that Congress contributes a significant 10% vote share and suggested that power sharing should be reciprocal, as seen at the Centre. Meanwhile, CM Stalin expressed confidence in the alliance’s victory, describing the NDA as a ‘dabba engine’ and an ’empty vessel’ with internal rifts, maintaining that his bond with Rahul Gandhi remains brotherly despite the disagreement over cabinet berths.
