Delhi Police addressed the media regarding the AI Summit protest case, confirming the arrest of eight individuals, including Indian Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu. The protest occurred at Bharat Mandapam during the AI Summit, where protestors removed their clothes and wore t-shirts featuring Prime Minister Modi’s face. Police stated that investigations revealed involvement of multiple people captured on CCTV cameras at and around the event venue. Sections 191(1) and 192 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita have been added during the investigation. The case has been transferred to the Interstate Cell of the Crime Branch due to its multi-state nature, financial and logistic networks among the accused, and the need for comprehensive investigation. Police sources indicated that Uday Bhanu did not cooperate during 20 hours of questioning, leading to his arrest and four-day police remand. The arrested individuals include Youth Congress officials from Telangana, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. Congress has supported the protestors, calling them brave.
