The battle for Tamil Nadu is heating up as cracks within the opposition alliance have emerged in the open. Congress and the DMK are locked in a seat-sharing tussle just ahead of the elections. Sources have told India Today that the Congress party is demanding 45 seats after reviewing the 2021 results, arguing that the bigger share will improve the strike rate and reclaim the ground that DMK is falling short on. The BJP has jumped in, mocking what they describe as big confusion within the alliance. The Tamil Nadu BJP unit even posted a caricature targeting the Congress leadership with begging bowls, mocking the grand old party. Amid all this, the TVK leader is now praising Rahul Gandhi, saying that Vijay and Rahul Gandhi are very similar, that they speak with courage and both of them are fearless voices today. The battleground is heating up as elections approach.
