Following a shooting incident outside the home of actor Disha Patni’s father in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has spoken to the family. The Chief Minister contacted Disha Patni’s father, a retired police officer, and assured him that stern action will be taken. A key assurance given was, "the whole state is with you and there will be no laxity that will be taken or will be allowed to happen as far as security is concerned." The attack involved two gunmen who fired indiscriminately. A social media post by a member of the Goldie Barad gang and gangster Rohit Godara claimed responsibility for the attack, linking it to alleged disrespectful comments about Hindu saints by the actor’s sister.
