The Telangana CID has arrested Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) President Jaganmohan Rao on charges of fraud and misappropriation of funds. This development follows allegations made by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) against the HCA, including intimidation, coercion, and blackmail over complimentary tickets and corporate boxes for matches at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. A preliminary report has reportedly validated these serious accusations. The controversy began during the IPL, with SRH threatening to move home games out of Hyderabad. The Telangana government had ordered a vigilance probe into the matter. Under a tri-party agreement with the BCCI, SRH was entitled to 3,900 complimentary tickets per match, but Rao allegedly demanded more tickets than agreed, including personal allocations and additional corporate box tickets.
