China’s Game-Changing NLOS Laser Vision Explained | WION Podcast

Chinese researchers have developed a groundbreaking laser technology that can detect hidden objects from over 1.4 kilometers away. Using non-line-of-sight (NLOS) imaging, the system works by bouncing laser pulses off surfaces to locate and recreate 3D images of objects not directly visible. In a recent experiment, scientists successfully detected and mapped a mannequin hidden behind a wall inside a building over a kilometer away. This breakthrough could have major implications for fields like surveillance, policing, defense, and search and rescue. The discovery marks a significant advancement in long-range imaging and remote sensing capabilities.
