China is building a first-of-its-kind nuclear reactor that doesn’t need water cooling. This thorium-based molten salt reactor, located near Wuwei in the Gobi Desert, is set to begin testing soon. Unlike traditional reactors, it can operate in arid regions, making nuclear power more accessible.
