At least five people lost their lives and many were hospitalised due to multiple lapses at an event in Tamil Nadu, organised by the Indian Air Force. The lapses included poor crowd management, lack of traffic planning, inadequate public transport, insufficient water supply, lack of proper shelter, and inadequate emergency medical facilities. Despite the Tamil Nadu government and civic authorities insisting that they had taken adequate measures, the sheer size of the crowd overwhelmed the systems in place, leading to fatalities and hospitalisations.
