Five people lost their lives during the Chennai air show, the city’s first in over 20 years. The BJP has blamed the ruling DMK government, accusing Chief Minister MK Stalin of neglecting public safety. The Tamil Nadu government responded, attributing the incident to heat and stating that they had done everything possible to ensure safety. The event was attended by an estimated 10 to 15 lakh people, with allegations of insufficient water and public transport facilities. Over 200 people were hospitalised due to dehydration and suffocation.
