Senior US military officials provide an update on Operation Epic Fury as it enters its 11th day. The briefing honours fallen service members including Major Jeffrey O’Brien, Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert Marzan, Staff Sergeant Benjamin Pennington, and Major Sorfley Davias. Officials report that US Central Command has struck more than 5,000 targets across Iran’s southern flank. Ballistic missile attacks from Iran have decreased by 90 percent and drone attacks by 83 percent since the operation began. More than 50 Iranian naval ships have been destroyed in the first 10 days using artillery, fighters, bombers, and sea-launched missiles. The operation focuses on three military objectives: destroying Iranian ballistic missiles and drone capabilities, striking the Iranian Navy to maintain movement through the Straits of Hormuz, and targeting Iran’s military and industrial base including production facilities and research sites.
