A high-level review meeting was held to discuss air pollution mitigation action plans for Delhi and Sonipat. The session focused on adopting a practical approach to identify pollution sources and evolve implementable solutions without inconveniencing the public. Key measures discussed included reducing office occupation by 50 per cent to curtail daily travellers and ensuring proper placement of parking facilities to reduce congestion caused by random parking. The meeting also highlighted that 62 traffic congestion spots have been identified for removal to ensure signal-free movement during peak hours. Additionally, industries in the Sonipat area have been directed to comply with emission monitoring standards by the 31st of December. These steps are part of long-term measures to tackle the pollution menace effectively.
