United States Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has stated that Pakistan poses the biggest nuclear threat to the United States of America. Speaking before a Senate panel, Tulsi Gabbard said Pakistan, China, North Korea and Russia pose the biggest nuclear threats to the US. She also flagged growing coordination between Pakistan and North Korea, and warned that North Korea is strengthening its partnerships both with Russia and China. On Iran, Tulsi Gabbard said the country’s nuclear enrichment programme was effectively obliterated in June 2025 strikes, though she cautioned that the regime remains intact, even if significantly degraded. She warned that Iran and its proxies still retain the ability to target the United States and its allies across the Middle East. This statement comes at a time when President Donald Trump has invited Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to the White House, raising questions about America’s strategy towards the nuclear-armed nation.
