West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose resigned from his post after serving for three-and-a-half years. The move ahead of the 2026 assembly election in the state. Following the resignation, Bose told PTI that he had spent enough time in the office and hence did not want to continue further.
The resignation drew a sharp reaction from Bengal’s political arena, with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressing her astonishment over the decision. In a post on X, Banerjee wrote that she was "Shocked and concerned" over the decision.
