An 18-year-old girl from Kannur, Kerala, died due to health complications linked to extreme dieting. She followed an online weight loss plan and had a deep fear of gaining weight. The teenager, identified as Srinanda, passed away while on ventilator support in a hospital in Thalassery. She had shrunk to about 25 kilos, an extremely unhealthy weight for her age, and was surviving on hot water while hiding food given to her.
