A former army officer was assaulted during a cab ride between Kanpur and Lucknow after praising the WAQF law. The retired colonel, who was traveling for a friend’s wedding, got into an argument with the cab driver, which escalated into a physical altercation. The victim’s documents and cash were allegedly looted, and he has been admitted to a hospital.
