Bengaluru’s hotel industry is facing a severe crisis as the supply of commercial gas cylinders has been completely halted due to interruption in gas supply. The Bengaluru Hotels Association has warned that hotels may remain shut tomorrow as gas supply is expected to remain curtailed. The association has issued a statement highlighting that since the hotel industry is categorised as an essential service, many common citizens, senior citizens, medical students, personnel and others who rely on this service for their daily meals will face significant difficulty. The statement further indicates that the hotel industry will continue to face hardships until gas supply returns to normal.
