BREAKING LIVE: Massive Republic Impact, Supreme Court Stays November Order On Aravalli
In a major development, the Supreme Court on Monday (December 29, 2025) heard the suo motu case on the new definition and protection of the Aravalli hills, amid mounting concerns over the ecological future of one of India’s oldest and most fragile mountain ranges.
The vacation bench, led by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant along with Justices JK Maheshwari and AG Masih, took up the matter titled “In Re: Definition of Aravalli Hills and Ranges and Ancillary Issues”. The hearing comes after the Supreme Court’s acceptance of the Centre’s definition of the Aravalli hills on November 20 had sparked widespread controversy.
In a big breakthrough, the Supreme Court has put the 20th November order in abeyance.
