Rahul Gandhi has defended arrested Congress workers, including Indian Youth Congress chief Uday Bhanu, calling them ‘Babbar Sher’ and stating he is proud of them and firmly stands with them. Gandhi reiterated his attack on what he termed a ‘compromised PM’, describing the arrests as proof of dictatorial tendencies and cowardice. A Delhi court granted four days police custody of Bhanu, the eighth person arrested in the case, booked on charges including criminal conspiracy, voluntarily causing hurt to a public servant, obstructing a public servant on duty, and willful disobedience. Sources said Bhanu was involved in planning the protest and will be confronted with other accused already in custody. The BJP launched a scathing attack on Rahul Gandhi and Congress over the incident, alleging the party has ‘insulted India globally’. Meanwhile, Bhanu’s parents have backed their son, saying they are proud of him for fighting for youth and farmers’ rights.
