A high-intensity explosion in a car near Delhi’s historic Red Fort has left multiple people injured and caused significant damage to nearby vehicles. In response to the blast, Home Minister Amit Shah has briefed the Prime Minister on the situation and ordered a speedy, high-level investigation. Multiple top agencies, including the Delhi Police’s Special Cell and the National Security Guard (NSG), have been dispatched to the scene. The area has been cordoned off as a forensic investigation begins to determine the cause of the explosion and to ascertain if it was a terror-related incident. Eyewitnesses reported a powerful blast as the vehicle, an Eeco van, was stopped at a red light.
