This special report details a high-intensity explosion in a van near Gate Number 1 of the Red Fort metro station in Delhi’s congested Chandni Chowk area. The blast, which occurred around 7 PM, resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries, with victims rushed to LNJP hospital. According to the report, ‘the intensity was so much of that explosion that parts of cars have been strewn up to 150 meters away from that explosion site.’ The area was immediately cordoned off, and a multi-agency investigation was launched, involving forensic teams, the dog squad, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), and the National Security Guard (NSG) to determine the cause of the powerful explosion. Eyewitness accounts and the scale of destruction, which engulfed eight to nine nearby cars in flames, have fueled speculation of a sinister plot.
