The BJP is reportedly operating in ‘mission mode’ for the West Bengal assembly elections scheduled for 2026, with a specific focus on winning over migrant Bengali voters. The party’s strategy involves reaching out to Bengalis who work in other states but are registered to vote in West Bengal. This outreach will be conducted through the BJP’s various state units. According to reports, the plan includes leveraging Durga Puja celebrations by engaging with communities at approximately 40,000 pandals across 150 districts in states like Delhi, Bihar, and Mumbai. The goal is to "bring in migrant voters to vote for the 2026 elections." This plan aims to use the party’s national network to influence voters who have family and contact relations back in Bengal, thereby strengthening the party’s position ahead of the polls.
