In Kerala’s election campaign, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan have accused each other’s parties of being the BJP’s B-team. Gandhi alleged that the LDF and BJP have joined hands in Kerala, stating ‘the BJP does not want the UDF here because they know that the only force that challenges them in the country is the Congress party’. He also raised the issue of alleged gold misappropriation at Sabarimala and claimed Prime Minister Modi forgot left leaders stole gold. Chief Minister Vijayan countered, alleging that Congress has joined hands with the BJP to keep the LDF out. Gandhi has repeatedly pointed out that Vijayan is the only opposition chief minister not attacked by central agencies, suggesting an understanding with the BJP. The CPM has cited examples of Congress helping BJP gain momentum in other states, including contesting against Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi. The BJP has questioned these mutual accusations, noting that both parties are part of the India Alliance in other states.
