A social media post of the Congress which was seemingly attacking the PM for disappearing and hiding from his responsibilities during the Pahalgam attack has become the cause of a bitter political war of words. Both the BJP as well its allies have accused the Congress of acting like Pakistan’s mouthpiece, a charge which has been levelled against several Congress leaders in the wake of the murder of 26 tourists in Jammu and Kashmir. Leaders like the Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, Tariq Hameed Karra, Vijay Waddetiwar have all been panned by the BJP for statements which the saffron party say show the Congress’ allegiance to Pakistan. It seems like history is repeating itself once again as the Pahalgam attack, like the Pulwama tragedy before it, has become another issue which parties are using to gain political mileage.
