The Bharatiya Janata Party has launched an attack on Rahul Gandhi for his remarks at Columbia University. The BJP alleges the Congress leader has become a ‘face of anti-India forces’ after he stated that democracy is under attack in the country. During his address, Rahul Gandhi said, "The single biggest risk is the attack on democracy that is taking place in India." He also commented that India cannot lead the world and spoke of centralized corruption. In response, the BJP held a press conference where MP Sudhanshu Trivedi questioned why only Rahul Gandhi is invited to speak at foreign universities over other Congress intellectuals. The BJP accused him of defaming India on foreign soil, calling him a ‘disgrace’. The Congress party defended the statements, asserting that he is speaking the truth.
