The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched protests in Karnataka, claiming that 60 crore rupees of government funding have been diverted to pay salaries of Congress Party workers. The BJP demands salary hikes for teachers and Anganwadi workers instead. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar defends the decision, stating that the honorarium is for Congress cadre overseeing the implementation of five guarantee schemes.
