In a recent interview during his election campaign in Coimbatore, BJP leader K Annamalai discussed the National Democratic Alliance’s prospects in the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections. Annamalai also criticized the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, claiming that the extensive campaigning by Chief Minister Stalin and Udayanidhi indicates a lack of confidence in their victory. Furthermore, he explained his decision not to contest the elections, noting that the party leadership preferred him to focus on organizational and campaign responsibilities. Rejecting the label of a national face, he affirmed his commitment to the state by declaring himself a local leader.
