Former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has criticised actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut, the MP from Mandi, for her absence from her constituency during the crisis. Thakur stated, ‘We are here to live and die with those who are concerned.’ The floods have caused over 60 deaths and property damage worth 400 crore rupees. Ranaut has since clarified that Thakur himself advised her to delay her visit until connectivity to affected areas was restored. The Congress party has seized this opportunity to criticise the BJP’s internal discord during a time of crisis.
