In a significant organisational reshuffle, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed 45-year-old Bihar Minister Nitin Nabin as its National Working President. Nabin, a five-term MLA from Bankipur and the youngest leader to hold this post, is credited with the party’s electoral success in Chhattisgarh where he served as state in-charge in 2024. Addressing the appointment, Nabin emphasised his grassroots connection, stating, ‘The workers have taught me how to work. The leaders have shown me the right path… Politics is a matter of patience.’ The move signals a generational shift within the party as it prepares for upcoming state elections. Nabin previously served as the National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM). The Congress party has criticised the appointment process, alleging a lack of transparency.
