In a major announcement for the Bihar Assembly general elections of 2025, the Election Commission has detailed significant procedural and technological upgrades to enhance transparency and voter convenience. Terming the Bihar polls as the "mother of all elections", the commission will implement 100% webcasting across all polling stations, a substantial increase from the previous 50%. For the first time, EVMs will feature colour photographs of candidates with larger font serial numbers to aid identification. A key reform addresses potential discrepancies: a mandatory recount of VVPATs will occur if there is any mismatch with Form 17C data. All services and apps like C-Vigil are being consolidated into a single platform called ECINET. Highlighting accessibility, an official stated, "The entire election machinery of Bihar is just a call away," ensuring voters can easily contact their election officers.
