Bihar Electoral Roll News: Opposition Call For 'Bihar Bandh', Rahul Gandhi To Lead Protest

The upcoming Bihar assembly polls have sparked controversy over a large-scale revision of the state’s electoral rolls. Opposition parties, including RJD, Congress, and other India bloc leaders, are protesting against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists, calling it a conspiracy to exclude marginalised groups. Rahul Gandhi will lead a ‘Bihar Bunster’ or ‘Chakka Jam’ on July 9 in Patna, joined by Bihar’s Leader of Opposition, Tejasvi Yadav. The SIR, which began on June 24, aims to add eligible voters and remove fake ones. The opposition demands an extension of the revision period and exemption for the 2025 election. The BJP defends the revision, calling opposition protests ‘frustration’. The Election Commission’s decision has raised concerns about potential voter exclusion and the timing of the exercise. #biharelections #voterlistrevision #oppositionprotest #itwebvideos #chakkajam #electioncommission
