This special report focuses on the major diplomatic and law enforcement victory for India with the extradition of fugitive Lakhwinder Kumar from the United States. Associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Kumar was wanted by the Haryana police for multiple serious crimes, including extortion, attempt to murder, and illegal use of firearms. ‘This is something which is a big win because the Central Bureau of Investigation which is also the main agency which is coordinating with the Interpol has actually in the collaboration with the MEA and MHA successfully coordinated the extradition of the fugitive Lakhwinder Kumar.’ The successful operation, a result of close coordination between the CBI, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Ministry of Home Affairs, saw Kumar’s return on October 25, 2025, after a Red Corner notice was issued in October 2024. He was taken into custody by Haryana Police upon his arrival at the Delhi airport.
