US President Donald Trump has announced a new plan to create a strategic stockpile of critical minerals with $12 billion in funding.
The money will come from the U.S. Export-Import Bank and will help the US secure important minerals used in batteries, defense, technology, and clean energy. The move is aimed at reducing America’s dependence on China, which controls much of the global mineral supply.
According to officials, this plan will strengthen US industries and protect national security.
