Delhi Police Crime Branch has busted an international arms trafficking module with links traced to Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. The module was being operated from the national capital. Crime Branch has arrested 10 individuals so far and recovered 21 foreign-made weapons manufactured in China, Turkey, Italy, Brazil and Germany. The recovered weapons include machine guns and automatic pistols, along with 200 live cartridges. The weapons were smuggled from Pakistan into India through the India-Nepal border and supplied to criminal gangs in Delhi and the adjoining areas of the national capital region and other states. DCP Sanjeev Yadav’s team led the operation that cracked this sophisticated arms supply syndicate. The accused will be questioned by the Central Agency in the coming days.
