The controversy over the shutdown of the Big Boss studio in Karnataka has revealed administrative cracks within the Siddharamayya government. The Pollution Control Board, which reports to the Forest, Environment and Ecology Ministry, issued a closure order for the studio. The minister was reportedly not informed about the decision. In a counter-move, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivkumar intervened to allow the studio to reopen. The matter is currently before the High Court. The chairman of the Pollution Control Board stated his board was not consulted on the reopening and affirmed his stance, saying, "since we have issued the closure order and we don’t have any powers to revoke it. Unless and until you get the CFO from us, the closure order will be in force." This incident underscores a public disagreement between a state minister, the Deputy Chief Minister, and a government board chairman.
