A horrific incident is being reported from Bhubaneswar, where a 15-year-old female student was set ablaze by three men in Bayabar village. According to reports, the minor was first abducted and taken to a nearby riverbank where the assailants set her on fire. The suspects fled the scene after the attack. The victim managed to escape and seek refuge in a nearby house, where villagers doused the flames and rescued her. She has suffered burn injuries and has been shifted to AIIMS in Bhubaneswar for treatment. The incident has raised significant questions about women’s safety in Odisha, with the reporter noting, "in a broad daylight abducted, taken to a riverbank where she was set ablaze, have raised alarms obviously as far as safety and security of women in Odisha is concerned." Puri police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the three unidentified suspects.
