Five Bengaluru students endured a harrowing experience after a one-day trip to Madikeri in a rented KIA Sonet. A car rental agency, falsely accusing them of excessive speeding, held the students hostage, extorted Rs 50,000 and a laptop through threats and assault. Police have apprehended three suspects and are pursuing the remaining culprits.
