Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Marketing Head Nikhil Sosale has been arrested and interrogated in connection with the stampede incident that occurred near the Chinnaswamy Stadium during a IPL victory celebration. Sosale, who plays a key role in RCB’s management team, was coordinating with event management firm DNA Entertainment Networks to organize promotional activities for the team’s post-season celebrations. The promotional campaign included a widely circulated announcement of a “victory parade” stretching from Vidhana Soudha to the Chinnaswamy Stadium — a move that reportedly did not have prior approval from city police authorities.
