Bengaluru’s Namma Metro experienced a record-breaking ridership of 966,732 passengers on Wednesday, coinciding with RCB’s IPL victory celebrations. The surge in commuters, nearly tripling across all corridors, led to temporary closures of key Purple Line stations like Cubbon Park, Vidhana Soudha, and MG Road due to overcrowding near the stadium, implemented as a precautionary safety measure.
